William T. "Pal" Bennett

November 11, 1952 — February 17, 2023

Mr. William T. "Pal" Bennett, age 70 years old of Pearson, Ga., passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at his home following an extended illness.  He was born in Homerville, Ga. on November 11, 1952, son of Harvey Hoke and Otha Lee Benefield Bennett.  Pal made his home in Pearson, where he, along with his wife, Donna, built a life they could love.  He worked with the Atkinson County Road Department as a heavy machine operator for many years and took great pride in providing for and taking care of his family.  Pal enjoyed fishing and hunting, doing yard work, riding horses and motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.  He attended New Bethel Church and was preceded in death, along with his parents, by 2 brothers; Harvey Lee Bennett and Charles Bennett, and 3 sisters; Joanne Bennett Gardner, Wilene Carter, and Carey Sue Bennett. 

Survivors include:

Wife:  Donna Bennett of Pearson, Ga.

Son:  Scott Bennett and fiancé, Kayla Skinner of Pearson, Ga.

Daughter:  Angie Stone and husband, Michael of Pearson, Ga.

4 Grandchildren:  Amber Reddy and Brooke Hall

                             Shawn Bennett

                             Jake Bennett and wife, Carrie

                             Jeremy Stone and wife, Taylor

5 Great Grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Bennett were held, Monday, February 20, 2023, at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. J.A. Anderson and Rev. Sim Youngblood officiating.  Special musical selections included, “The Anchor Holds”, and “We Shall See the King” rendered by soloist, Tony Allen on the guitar.  The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery with special song, “Carry Me Jesus” by soloist and guitarist, Tony Allen.

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Scott Bennett, Jake Bennett, Jeremy Stone, Terry Bennett, Daniel Bennett, and Curtis Bennett. 

Serving as honorary pallbearers were:  Stanley Bennett and Shawn Bennett.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
