Mr. Tommy Browning, Jr., age 71 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness.
Tommy was born in Reidsville, Ga. on February l7, l948, son of the late Tommie, Sr. and Wilma Corbitt Browning. He had made his home in Atkinson County for most of his life and in his spare time, enjoyed fishing and reading. He served as the Cub Scout Leader for Pack 806 for many years and was a member of the Ashley D. Morris American Legion Post 173 in Pearson, Ga. He was a U. S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War. His church membership was The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Pearson Ward.

Daughter: Cassandra Henry and husband, Michael of Axson, Ga.
Sister: Elizabeth "Libby" Batten and husband, Lonnie of Douglas, Ga.

Niece: Jessica Gregory and husband, Jack of Douglas, Ga.
Nephew: Kevin Batten of Douglas, Ga.
Several Great-nephews, nieces and other relatives also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. Browning were held, Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Pearson, Ga. with Bishop Clee Sirmans, Elder Lester Cribbs and Elder Steve Sirmans officiating. Special musical selections “Halls of Montezuma”, “Daddy’s Hands” and “I Want to Stroll over Heaven with You” were rendered by CD. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was played by Tonya Cecil, pianist. The interment followed in Little Utah Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by a U. S. Marine Corps Honor Guard from the U. S. Marine Base in Albany, Ga.
Active pallbearers were: Dennis Drott, Keegan Wilkinson, Lonnie Batten, Michael Henry, Eddie Crosby, Clay Browning and Jack Gregory. Honorary pallbearers were, Davita Dialysis 1st shift patients and family members.
Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
