Jack Vickers

October 20, 1932 — December 18, 2019

Mr. Thomas Jack Vickers, age 87 of Pearson, Ga. passed away, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his home following an extended illness.

 

A native of Pearson, Ga., Mr. Vickers was born October 20, l932, son of Thomas William Vickers and Annie Belle Douglas Vickers Chestnut. He had made his home in Jacksonville and Orlando for many years before moving back home in l995. He retired from Orlando Utility as Maintenance Supervisor after many years of employment. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #59l F&AM in Albany, Ga., and was a U. S. Army Veteran.

He loved to fish and hunt, but was mostly known for his fishing skills, both freshwater and saltwater. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Jackie Palmer and Wanda Gail Vickers, 2 grandsons, Jamie Palmer and Keith Palmer, 2 brothers, Jimmy and John Allen Vickers and a sister, Mary Frances Parker.

 

Survivors include:

Wife: Wilma Jean Vickers of Pearson, Ga.

Daughter: Shirley Kokidko of Pearson, Ga.

4 Brothers: Henry Vickers and wife, Rose of Pearson, Ga.

                   Larry Vickers and wife, Jackie of Waresboro, Ga.

                   Dan Vickers and wife, Linda Gail of Pearson, Ga.

                   David Vickers and wife, Sandra of Lake City, Fla.

Sister: Cora Boatright of Douglas, Ga.

        

Son-in-Law: Terry Palmer and wife, Leta of Pearson, Ga.

2 Grandchildren: Matthew Kokidko and wife Karla

                             Marshall Kokidko and wife Audrey

Niece: Kay Bazemore Hawkins

 

5 Great-Grandchildren: Nadia, Jonathon, Ashlynn, Aubrey and Carlie Kokidko

 

Care Givers: Bernice Minor and Willie Griner

 

Funeral services for Mr. Vickers were held, Friday, December 20, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Relihan Funeral Home Chapel in Pearson, Ga. with Bishop Dan Vickers, Brother D.Q. Pittman and George Hayes officiating. Special music included “Go Rest on That Mountain” and “Fishing in the Sky” presented by CD. The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites and Military Honors rendered by an Honor Guard contingent from Ft. Stewart, Ga.

 

Serving as active pallbearers were, Jim Hall, Jeff Vickers, Tim Hall, Christopher Vickers,

Porter Vickers and Brian Boatright.

 

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
