Thomas Steve Allen

Mr. Thomas Steve “Tom” Allen, age 91, of Pearson, Ga., passed away, Monday, October 22, 2018 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. 

Born September 13, l927 in Telfair County, Mr. Allen was the son of Carlto and Maggie Mims Allen. He had made his home in Atkinson County for most of his life and was a member of Sunnyside Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Travis Allen, Oscar Allen and Woody Allen and 2 sisters, Lois Hamil and Thelma Hurlbert.

Survivors include:

3 Nieces:  Minnie Stone and husband, Eddie of Pearson, Ga.
               Loretta Brunner of Pearson, Ga.
               Margaret Stevens and husband, Larry of Nashville, Ga.

Great-Niece:  Delila Williams and husband, Ike of Douglas, Ga.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Allen were held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunnyside Church Cemetery with Rev. Teddy Burch officiating. Special music included “Keep on the Firing Line” and “I’ll Fly Away” rendered acapella by the Sunnyside Church choir. “Amazing Grace, My Chains are Gone” and “I Can Only Imagine” were presented by cd. The internment followed in the Sunnyside Church Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were: James Newcomb, Derek Newcomb, Michael Martin, Ron Crews, Russell Hurlbert and Banks Edison.
