Mrs. Shirley Benefield Lott, age 66 of Nicholls, Ga. formerly of Atkinson County, passed away, Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at her home following an extended illness.
A native of Nashville, Ga., Mrs. Lott was born April 3, l952, daughter of Eddie Benefield and Fannie Bennett Benefield. She had made her home in Atkinson County for most of her life and worked in the garment and poultry industry as well as being a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Lott, 3 sisters, Fannie Mae Bagley, Mary Frances Bennett and Margaret Douglas, and 2 brothers, David Benefield and J. E. Benefield.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Carmen Lott of Nicholls, Ga.
Brother: Eddie Benefield of Pearson, Ga.
3 Grandchildren: Shawn Spikes, Zachery Spikes, and Edward Miller
5 Great-Grandchildren: Zoey Spikes, Connor Spikes, Dalton Spikes, Mason Gray and Landon Gray
Several Nieces and Nephews and other relatives also survive
Funeral Services for Mrs. Lott were held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at New Bethel Church at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Sim Youngblood officiating. Special musical selections were “Send Your Best Angel for Mama”, “Lead Me Home”, “Me and God” and “Coat Of Many Colors” rendered by CD. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was by CD. The interment followed in New Bethel Church Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers were: Josh Benefield, Shawn Spikes, Zachery Spikes,
Edward Miller, William Bennett and Gary Lanier.
Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
