Ruth Spivey Whaley

Mrs. Ruth Spivey Whaley, age 87 of Pearson, Ga., passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga.

Mrs. Whaley was born on November 12, l934 in Fargo, Ga., Daughter of Henry and Julia Victoria Watkins Spivey.  She had made her home in Pearson, Ga. for many years and was a homemaker.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Odell Whaley, daughter, Julianne Hailey and granddaughter, Donna Hailey.

Survivors include:

2 Sons: Timothy R. Whaley of Pearson, Ga.

              Ronnie O. Whaley and wife Joyce of Picayune, Ms.

Daughter: Helen Laglue and husband Carl of New Orleans, La.

13 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Whaley were held, Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Hardy Crosby officiating. Special music included “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “Amazing Grace “rendered by CD. The internment followed in Holy Family Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were: Rickey Hailey, Billy Hailey, Timmy Riggins, Ryan Percile, Kevin Brown and Joshua Stubbs.

Honorary pallbearers were: Daniel Taft and Joshua Hailey

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
