Larry Mullis

August 26, 1946 — August 10, 2019

Mr. Larry Mullis, age 72, of Pearson, Ga. passed away at his home on Saturday, August 10, 2019, following an extended illness.

Born August 26, l946, in Douglas, Ga., Mr. Mullis was the son of the late Ralph Mullis and Carlettie Belch Smith.  He worked at General Motors in Atlanta for many years before relocating back to Pearson where he worked as an electrician in the Mobile Home Industry. His favorite pastime was Antique cars. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Joyce Royals Mullis of Pearson, Ga.

 

2 Sons:  Justin Morgan and wife, April of Axson, Ga.

             Scott Morgan of Pearson, Ga.

 

2 Brothers:  Ralph Troy Mullis and wife, Joyce of Jacksonville, Fla.

                  Harry Mullis of Pearson, Ga.

 

5 Grandchildren:  Daysha Arnold and husband, John

                          Justin Morgan, Jr.

                          Ashlyn Morgan

                          Madison Morgan

                          Mason Morgan

 

2 Great-Grandchildren:  Bentley Arnold

                                   Emma Grace Morgan

 

Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Mullis were held on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in Pearson, Ga. with Bishop Clee Sirmans and Elder Steve Sirmans officiating. Special music included “How Great Thou Art” rendered by The Pearson Ward Choir with Tonya Cecil accompanying at the piano and “Lord Help Me Jesus” by George Jones on cd.  Soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude was by Tonya Cecil, pianist. The internment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Bren Mullis, Reef Mullis, Camden Bennett, Bernard Zimmerman, Rickey Fogle, and Craig Gurley.

Honorary pallbearers were:  Joseph Royals, Jr. and Harry Mullis

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
