Mr. Roy Mizell, Jr., age 81, of Axson, Ga. passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Ga.
Born December l4, l937, in Douglas, Ga., Mr. Mizell was the son of the late Roy Mizell, Sr. and Sara Crosby Mizell. He was a prominent farmer and carpenter in the Axson community and was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-Day Saints. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Faron Mizell, a sister, Beulah Mae “Tookie” Adams and a brother, James Olin “Coon” Mizell.

2 Sons: Wesley Mizell and wife, Teresa of Axson, Ga.
“Lil John” Harvey Gile Mizell of Axson, Ga.
Brother: J.D. “Duck” Mizell and wife, Reba of Axson, Ga.
2 Sisters: Madeline “Bat” Dillingham and husband, Glenn of Willacoochee, Ga.
Anna J. Giddens Boone of Axson, Ga.
Sister-in-law: Catherine Mizell of Axson, Ga.
Daughter-in-law: Betty Ann Mizell of Axson, Ga.
6 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Mizell were held, Friday, December 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Utah Cemetery in Axson, Ga. with Bishop Stevie Sirmans and Rev. Edward Mathews officiating. Special music included “Go Rest High on That Mountain” presented by CD. The interment followed in Utah Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers were: Derrick Dillingham, Kevin Dillingham, Clay Davis, Eric Mizell,
Damon Mizell, Scott Thomas, and Tim Whitley. Honorary pallbearers were: Brad Mizell, Scott Thomas,
Clay “Bug” Mizell, Nollie Burch, Johnny Farrell, Travis Mizell, Lee Mizell, Ethan Nettles and
Beau Nettles.
Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
