Rickey L. Bazemore

Mr. Ricky L. Bazemore, age 55, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Ga. following a brief illness.  He was born in Douglas, Ga. on June 12, 1966, son of Robert Daniel and Betty Murl McGovern Bazemore.  As a heavy equipment operator, Ricky took great pride in working hard to provide for his family.  He enjoyed fishing, mud boggin’ and driving fast, but most of all, he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Mr. Ricky was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Survivors include:

Wife:  Mandy Bazemore of Pearson, Ga.

Son:  Cody Bazemore and wife Joanna of Pearson, Ga.

Daughter:  Brittany Bazemore and fiancé Clifford Whitley of Douglas, Ga.

4 Brothers:  Robbie Dale Bazemore and wife Debbie of Axson, Ga.

                    Keith Bazemore and wife Missy of Pearson, Ga.

                    Randy McGovern and wife Patricia of Pearson, Ga. 

                    Barney Ray McGovern and wife Bonnie of Pearson, Ga. 

4 Grandchildren:  Brody Daniel Bazemore, Brayden Lamar Bazemore, Adelyn Harper Bazemore, and Camden Leon Whitley.

Several other relatives also survive.

Graveside Services for Mr. Bazemore were held Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery with Rev. Teddy Burch officiating. Special musical selections included, “Jealous of the Angels” rendered by c.d.  The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Jimmy Spikes, John Nugent, Brian Nugent, Paul Hall, Tim Kidd, and John Adams.

Serving as an honorary pallbearer was Chris Meloy.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
