Rene Gonzalez Lopez

Mr. Rene Gonzalez Lopez, age 30, of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away, Sunday, February 21, 2021 in Douglas, Ga., following injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Son of Rosa Lopez Juarez, Rene was born February 16, 1991 in Westchester, PA.  He made his home, with his family, in Willacoochee, Ga.  Rene worked as a Supervisor at Spectrum Distribution Center in Douglas, Ga.  He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Anthony of Padua in Ray City, Ga.  Rene enjoyed fishing, laughing, shooting guns, and watching football, especially the GA Bulldogs, but above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his son, Christian.

Mother:  Rosa Lopez of Willacoochee, Ga.

Wife:  Whitney Lopez of Pearson, Ga.

Son:  Christian Rene Lopez of Pearson, Ga.

                Alejandra Diaz of Willacoochee, Ga.

Funeral Mass for Mr. Lopez was held, Friday, February 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Douglas, Ga., with Father Paul O'Connell officiating.  Special musical selections included, “Amazing Grace”, “The King of Love” and “I Know that My Redeemer Lives” rendered by soloist, Ann Bookhardt with Gray McKinnon, organist.  The interment followed in the Douglas City Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were Lalo Maqueda, Jesus Contreras, Frankie Rodriguez, Ramiro Arredondo, Jose Arredondo and Fernando Gaona.  Serving as honorary pallbearers were:  Blain Kirkland, Daniel Ruelas and Lupe Lopez.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
