Mrs. Peggy Sue Davis Browning, age 74 years old, of Pearson, Ga., passed away, Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Shands Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mrs. Peggy was born March 3, 1949, in Pearson, Ga., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rubin Jr. and Beadie Viola McKinnon Davis. She made her home here in Pearson, where she, along with her loving husband, Tommy and daughter, Cassandra, built their family on a solid foundation of love, faith, and service to others, as they were dedicated leaders over the local Cub & Boy Scouts of America, for many years. Mrs. Peggy worked at Mary Lou’s Flower Shop in Pearson, for several years, along with being a seamstress for family and friends. She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served in many different leadership roles and callings in the church. Mrs. Peggy loved many things in her life, along with sewing, reading, cross-stitching, cooking, and doing word search puzzles. She loved anything that was purple, and above all else, she cherished spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren, Gracie, and Kaleb. Although her presence in this life will be greatly missed, her spirit will continue to shine for generations to come. Mrs. Peggy was preceded in death, along with her parents, by her husband; Tommy Browning, Jr., 2 sisters; Elmarie Lott and Euretha Davis, and 2 brothers; Rubin Davis III and Julian Osborne Davis.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Cassandra Henry and husband Michael of Axson, Ga.
Sister: Marlene Davis Melchior of Fredericksburg, Va.
Brother: Jerry Davis and wife Cathy of Axson, Ga.
2 Grandchildren: Gracie Catherine Adams and Kaleb Andrew Adams
Several nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Browning were held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Pearson, Ga. with Bishop Ronnie Cribbs officiating. Opening prayer was given by April Mizell, along with the eulogy delivered by Brenda Stone, spiritual message by Bro. Stevie Sirmans, and Charlie Mizell gave the closing prayer. Special musical selections included “Angels” and “I Wanna Stroll Over Heaven with You” both rendered by cd, along with “I Need Thee Every Hour” sung by the congregation. The interment followed in Little Utah Cemetery in Axson, Ga., with dedication of the grave given by Bro. David White.
Serving as active pallbearers were: David White, Marcus Corbitt, Jonathon McDowell, Clee Sirmans, Jake Relihan and Virgil Bennett.
Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation for Mrs. Browning will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga.
Mrs. Browning will lie in state at The Church of Latter-day Saints in Pearson, Ga. on Wednesday, November 01, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M.
