Mrs. Maxine “Pinky” Simmons Mills, age 82, of Willacoochee, Ga., passed away, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at her home in Willacoochee, Ga. following an extended illness.
A native of Kirkland, Ga., Mrs. Mills was born December 5, l936, daughter of Harley and Vonice Fussell Simmons. She had made her home in Willacoochee since l972. She was a homemaker and had previously served on the Atkinson County Health Board, Atkinson County Library Board, and the Willacoochee Industrial Authority. She was an active member of the Willacoochee United Methodist Church serving as secretary and treasurer for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Harlene Simmons Newbern.

Husband: James D. “Jim” Mills of Willacoochee, Ga.
Son: Michael D. Mills and wife Jennifer of Olathe, Ks.
Special Niece: Sheila Cribb and husband Terry of Willacoochee, Ga.
2 Sisters: Ilee Delk of Axson, Ga.
Wanda Cation and husband Bob of Fernandina Beach, Fl.
2 Grandchildren: Maximus Millis and Scarlett Mills of Olathe, Ks.
Special Great Niece: Anna C. Greene
Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mills were held Friday, February 22, 20l9 at ll:00 A. M. at the Willacoochee United Methodist Church with Rev. Lauri Hartley officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace” rendered by the attending congregation with Beth Paulk accompanying at the piano. Prelude and Postlude music was by Beth Paulk pianist. The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers were Maximus Mills, Cam Cation, Joe Reif, Jr., Greg Hunkapillar, Buck Newbern and Tommy Luke.
Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
