Mary Frances Morris

Mrs. Mary Frances Morris, age 79 of Pearson, Ga., passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at her home in Pearson, Ga. following an extended illness.

Mrs. Morris was born May 16, l942, in Douglas, Ga., daughter of the late Henry and Dora Whitley Barnes. She had made her home in Yulee, Fl. for many years before moving back to Pearson, Ga. in l990. She worked for many years in the Auto Industry as a shipping and receiving clerk.  After retiring she devoted herself to being a homemaker and taking care of her grandchildren.  She was a longtime member of Red Bluff Primitive Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mickey Morris, daughter, Tracey Miller, sister, Ruth Leavens and brother, Cecil Barnes.

2 Daughters:  Tonya Mason of Hartselle, Al.

                        Melissa Williams and husband Ivan of Yulee, Fl.

2 Brothers:  Harold Barnes of Douglas, Ga.

                    J.H. Barnes of Homerville, Ga.

6 Sisters:  Connie Hamilton of Pearson, Ga.

                 LaVonne Marsh of Augusta, Ga.

                 Virginia Griffis and husband Roger of Douglas, Ga.

                 Sarah Clemons of Douglas, Ga.

                 Carolyn Barnes of Athens, Ga.

                 Edna Inlow and husband Derwood of Bainbridge, Ga.

10 Grandchildren:  Thomas Earl Mason (Sarah), Tabitha Abigail Mason Hatfield (Jordon), TaShauna Mason, Ivan Williams, Sean Williams, Travis Williams, Lacey Morris, Caitlyn Riggins (Johnny), Nelson Morris (Odalys), and Mackenzie Miller.

10 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Morris were held Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at Ozias Freewill Baptist Church in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Lonnie Spikes and Rev. Harold Barnes officiating. Special music included “’Wish You Were Here” rendered by Zenda Adair with cd accompaniment. “Go Rest High On that Mountain” and “Amazing Grace” were rendered by the Barnes Sisters with Wendy Spikes accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was by Wendy Spikes, pianist. The interment followed in Red Bluff Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were, Terry Morris, Ethan Carver, Will Hamilton, Cody Hayes, Bing Hamilton, Mac Adair, Thomas Mason, Ivan Williams, Sean Williams, Travis Williams, Nelson Morris and Caitlyn Riggins,

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
