Mr. Lonnie Delk Griffis, age 62, of Pearson, Ga. passed away Friday, March 08, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following a short illness. A native of Lakeland, Ga., Mr. Griffis made his home in Pearson, Ga. He worked for many years as an over the road truck driver and enjoyed his retirement later in life. Mr. Griffis was preceded in death by his parents; W.M. Delk and Alma Mae Luke, along with his adopted parents; Coleman and Jettie Mae Griffis and one brother; Winston Delk. Survivors include: Son: Glenn Griffis of Pearson, Ga. 2 Daughters: Michelle Tanner of Statenville, Ga. Mandy Griffis of Indiana 7 Brothers: Johnny Delk of Pearson, Ga. Ralph Delk of Pearson, Ga. James Delk and wife Mary Ann of Sparks, Ga. Wiley Delk and wife Bobbie of Nashville, Ga. Carl Delk and wife Deborah of Nashville, Ga. Mark Griffis and wife Laura of Douglas, Ga. Byron Griffis and wife Rachael of Douglas, Ga 4 Sisters: Janice Nisen of husband Johnny of Nashville, Ga. Patricia Roberson and husband Joe of Nashville, Ga. Buelah Bradford of Nashville, Ga. Eva Ruth Cook of Nashville, Ga. 7 Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. Griffis were held, Monday, March 11, 2019 at 2:00 P.M at Lang Country Church with Rev. Mark Griffis and Rev. Byron Griffis officiating. Special musical selections included, “Dancing in the Sky”, “When I Get Where I’m Going”, “Lead Me Home”, and “Go Rest High” all rendered by cd accompaniment. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was provided by cd. The interment followed in Lang Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers: Ricky Delk, Bubba Nisen, Chris Delk, Jacob Reddick, Dale Arrowood and Earl Vallandingham. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
