Mr. Larry C. Metts, age 84 of Powder Springs, Ga., passed away Monday, January 04, 2021 at Wellstar Community Hospice in Austell, Ga following an extended illness. A native of Willacoochee, Ga., Mr. Metts was born, March 17, 1936 son of Mr. and Mrs. Elton O. and Carolyn Parker Metts. He was a retired fabrics salesman with Amico and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Metts enjoyed listening to classical music, reading, playing golf and was a big Georgia Bulldogs fan. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Airforce. Mr. Metts was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his brother, Elton O. Metts, Jr. and his Great-Granddaughter, Kaylee White-Lindell. Survivors include: Wife: Maggie Vickers Metts of Powder Springs, Ga. Son: Kipp Metts and wife Beverly of Powder Spings, Ga. Daughter: Dana Simmons and husband Scott of Powder Springs, Ga. 4 Grandchildren: Joshua Metts, Nathaniel Metts, Stephanie Lindell and husband Jaron, and Sean Simmons. 3 Great Grandchildren: Amberly Metts, Ryan Metts, and Blayklee Lindell. Several other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Metts were held on Thursday, January 07, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Relihan Funeral Home Chapel in Pearson, Ga. with Mr. Donnie Smith, and Mr. Greg Lloyd officiating. Special musical selections included instrumental renderings of, “In the Garden”, “I Cannot Tell” and “How Great Thou Art” rendered by keyboardist, Greta Grantham and Anna Grace Grantham, violinist. The interment with military honors followed in Willacoochee City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Don Paulk, Daryl Metts, Cray Grantham, Bronson Coffee, Mark Tucker and Tim Vickers. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
