OBITUARY MRS. JULIA OSWALT REGISTER
Mrs. Julia Belle Oswalt Register, age 98 of Pearson, Ga. passed away, Monday, May 13, 2019 at The Landings of Douglas in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness.
A native of Fayette, Al., Mrs. Register was born June l7, l920, daughter of Grover Cleveland and Ardelia Fowler Oswalt. She grew up in Columbus, Ms., but lived most of her adult life in Atkinson County. She worked at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. for 26 years as a nurse in the Nursery ward. After retiring, she helped her husband on the family farm and enjoyed gardening, cooking and working in her flower gardens. She was a longtime member of Sweetwater United Methodist Church and at the time of her death was the oldest member of the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Register, 3 brothers, Truman Oswalt, Festus Oswalt, and Milford Oswalt and a sister, Mae Green.

Son: Cleveland Register of Pearson, Ga.
Daughter: Connie Landrum and husband, Joe of Sylvania, Ga.
Sister: Christine Flye of Columbus, Miss.
2 Grandchildren: April Chambless and husband, Chad
Cynthia Lee and husband, Scott
1 Step-Grandchild: April Dockery and husband, Phil
4 Great-Grandchildren: Haley Mock, Braden Mock, Megan Lee, and Jake Lee.
3 Step-Great-Grandchildren: Rhett, Range, and Reece.
Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Register were held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Sweetwater United Methodist Church in Pearson, Ga. at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Teddy Burch, Bro. Frank Littleton and Bro. D.Q. Pittman officiating. Special musical selections included, “Beulah Land”, “I Want The Lord to be Satisfied With Me” and “He’ll Hold my Hand” were rendered by John Lang, soloist who accompanied himself on the keyboards. Prelude and Postlude music was by John Lang. The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers were, Cleveland Register, James Joyce, Donnie Giddens, Roger Taft, Fred Wells and Ronnie Metts. Honorary pallbearers were, Julian Haskins, L. H. James, Glenn Walker and Phil Dockery.
Relihan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
