Mrs. Johnnie Mae Crews, age 80, of Douglas, Ga. passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at her home in Douglas, Ga. 

A native of Coffee County, Mrs. Crews was born November 15, 1944, daughter of Fred C., Sr. and Beadie Pearl Lott Barrs. She had made her home in Douglas and was a member of Goodwill Assembly of God in Pearson, Ga.. She worked at Elixir Industries for 26 years and retired as Supervisor of the Wood Department. She loved fishing, shopping, spending time with her family, and in her younger years was an excellent softball player. After retirement she started volunteering with CRMC Auxiliary Workers, where she had accumulated almost 10,000 hours and was passionate about her service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton C. Crews, brother, Jerry Wayne Barrs, 2 sons, David and Vance Crews, grandson, Kipp Crews, and beloved pet, Rusty.

Survivors Include:

2 Sons: Chad Odum and wife Angie of Douglas, Ga.

             Ray Odum and wife Cheryl of Douglas, Ga.

Brother: Fred C. Barrs, Jr. and wife Linda of Douglas, Ga.

Sister: Shirley Dale Wright and husband Gerald “Pud” of Douglas, Ga.

7 Grandchildren: Jason Odum and wife Hannah, George Michael Odum and wife Breanna, Ryan Lewis and wife Jessica, Crystal McGowan and husband Chad, Bailey Odum, Peyton Odum, and Eric Crews

Beloved pet: Toby

13 Great Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Crews were held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Goodwill Assembly of God in Pearson, Ga. with Sis. Elaine Keene, Bro. George Bennett and Bro. Steve Sirmans officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace” by soloist Angie Odum and “I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You” by cd. The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were: Jason Odum, George Michael Odum, Ryan Lewis, Bailey Odum, Peyton Odum, and Chad McGowan.

Honorary pallbearers were: CRMC Auxiliary Workers

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
