John "Johnny" Henry Brown

Mr. Johnny Brown, age 69 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away, Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fl. following an extended illness.

A native of Willacoochee, Ga., Mr. Brown was born November, l4, l950, son of James Robert and Lillian Jeanette Chaney Brown. He was a 25-year veteran of service as a Police Officer, mostly in Willacoochee, where he served as an officer and Police Chief for many years. He also worked with the Pearson Police Department and Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office. He was a U S Army Veteran. After retiring, he spent most of his time restoring old cars and farmal tractors. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gayle Wilds.

Survivors include:

Daughter: Selena Corbitt and husband Jason of Dunellon, Fl.

Son: James Henry Brown of Willacoochee, Ga.

Wife: Possum Brown of Willacoochee, Ga.

2 Sisters: Ann Spivey and husband Donnie of Pearson, Ga.

                 Ellen Smith and husband Robert of Pearson, Ga.

6 grandchildren and several other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Brown were held, Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Willacoochee United Methodist Church with Rev. Hogan Waldron officiating. Special music included “Jealous of The Angels”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “Dancing in The Sky” rendered by cd. The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by an Honor Guard contingent from Ft. Stewart, Ga. and last call made by Tri County 9ll.

Active pallbearers were Michael Powell, Matthew Adams, Zachary Adams, McKade Balance, Tallen Corbitt, and Dabo McDonald.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
