Mr. Joe Willie Giddens, age 78 of Pearson, Ga., passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 at his home following a brief illness.
A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Giddens was born May 9, l942, son of Ken J. “Coaden” and Mary Frances “Fannie” Higgs Giddens. He retired as a signalman with CSX Railroad. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and collecting coca cola memorabilia. He was a longtime member of Lang Country Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Spivey Giddens, a son, Thomas Clements and 2 sisters, Martha McQuaig and Sarah Postel.

Son: Ray D. Clement of Pearson, Ga.
Daughter: Kathy Gurley of Millwood, Ga.
3 Grandchildren: Matt Gurley and wife Michelle of Pearson, Ga.
Kortney Gurley of Pearson, Ga.
Thomas Clements II of Douglas, Ga.
3 Great-Great Grandchildren: Savannah Gurley, Madison Gurley, and Payton Gurley.
Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Giddens were held, Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. at Lang Country Church with Rev. Clyde Purvis officiating. Special musical selections “Amazing Grace”, “I’ll Fly Away” and “Lay Down and Leave It” were rendered by the Mathis Sisters. Prelude and Postlude music by the Mathis Sisters. The interment followed in Arabia Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers were, James Corbitt, Jimmy Corbitt, Henry Taft, Orlando Torres, Brandon Torres, and Emanuel Taft. Honorary pallbearers were, Chris Spivey and Cecil Spivey.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made to Lang Country Church.
Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
