Jimmy Calvin Dell, Jr.

Mr. Jimmy Calvin Dell, Jr., age 70 years old, of Pearson, Ga. passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Irwin County Hospital in Ocilla, Ga.  He was born in Columbus, Ga. on August 2, 1952, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Calvin, Sr. and Barbara Nell Saunders Dell.  While spending his younger years in Miami, Florida, for the last 50 years he made Pearson his home, where he worked in construction and carpentry.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and when he couldn't be found outdoors, he would be inside watching his favorite John Wayne movies.  Mr. Jimmy was preceded in death by his partner of 32 years, Nancy Echeveria, along with two brothers, Johnny and Jerry Dell.

Survivors Include:

Daughter: Eileen Corbitt and husband Larry “Possum” of Hortense, Ga.

Parents: Jimmy, Sr. and Barbara Dell of Pearson, Ga.

3 Grandchildren: Kristina Thornton and husband T.J.

Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. Dell were held on Wednesday, January 4, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Kirkland Church in Kirkland, Ga. with Rev. Gary Griffin officiating.

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
