Ms. Jeanie Paulk, age 86, of Douglas, Ga., passed away Tuesday, November 05, 2024, at her home in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness.
Ms. Paulk was born September 13, l938 in Willacoochee, Ga., daughter of Jeff and Pearl Roberts Paulk. She attended school in Willacoochee and was in the first graduating class of Atkinson County High School. After graduating, she worked in various jobs as a bank teller, salesperson at a big box store in Atlanta, gift shop in Pearson and J-MAXX Homeplace in Fernandina, Beach, Fl. After returning home she moved to the farm where she enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening and working in her flower beds. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her lifelong companion of over 60 years, Max Carter, and 2 sisters, Betty Muril Paulk and Jeffery Paulk McGowan.
Survivors include: Brother: Major General USAF John R. Paulk (Retired) and wife Gail of Ruskin, Fl.
3 Sisters: Bonnie Manning of Jacksonville, Fl. Mary Flanagan and husband Edd of Perry, Ga. Kay Relihan and husband George of Pearson, Ga.
Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Ms. Paulk were held on Saturday, November 09, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Relihan Funeral Home Chapel in Pearson, Ga. With nephews Bob Manning and Carl McGowan officiating and special remarks by Ken Vickers. Special music included “Over The Rainbow” by niece Angie Odum. The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the dedication of the grave by Edd Flanagan.
Pallbearers were nephews, Bob Manning, Carl McGowan, Chad McGowan, Jeff Paulk, Bradley Manning, Kevin Manning, and Jake Relihan.
The family of Ms. Jeanie Paulk would like to give their sincere thanks to her caregivers, Margie Bush, Toni Wynn, Debra Williams, Amber Leverette, Dana Jones and Mabel Manley for the outstanding care and dedication given to Jeanie during the past year. Also, a special thanks to her farm workers, Raymond Cambell and James Floyd for maintaining the grounds.
