Mr. Harold “Buddy” James, age 83, of Douglas, Ga. passed away Sunday, February 09, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Ga

Mr. James was born January 19, l942, son of the late Aubree and Vada Kight James. He made his home in Douglas, Ga., but lived in Atkinson County for many years. He retired from IMC as Agri Business Account Manager and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Douglas and a U S Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam conflict. He enjoyed working on his farm, UGA Football, fishing and especially being outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommie James.

Survivors include:

Wife: Grace M. James of Douglas, Ga.

Son: Ard James of Savannah, Ga.

Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. James were held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church in Douglas, Ga. with Rev. Jeff Martin officiating. Special musical selections included “For All The Saints”, “It is Well with My Soul” and “Lift High the Cross” rendered by the attending congregation with Gray McKinnon accompanying at the piano. Prelude and Postlude music by Gray McKinnon, Pianist. The interment followed in Oakland Cemetery in Waycross, Ga.

Serving as active pallbearers were D. J. James, Jamie James, David Moore, Tim Johansen and David Johansen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Douglas, Ga. or to South Geogia State College.

Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
