Harold "Buddy" James

Mr. Harold “Buddy” James, age 83, of Douglas, Ga. passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Ga.

Mr. James was born January 19, 1942, son of the late Aubree and Vada Kight James. He made his home in Douglas, Ga., but lived in Atkinson County for many years. He retired from IMC as Agri Business Account Manager. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Douglas and a U S Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommie James. 

Survivors include:

Wife: Grace M. James of Douglas, Ga.

Son: Ard James of Savannah, Ga.

Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. James will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church in Douglas, Ga. with Rev. Jeff Martin officiating. The interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Waycross, Ga. 

Visitation for Mr. James will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church in Douglas, Ga.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Douglas, Ga. or to South Georgia State College.
