Mrs. Glenda Nikki White Lang, age 58, of Pearson, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, in Douglas, Georgia, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mrs. Lang was born on June 23, 1964, in Homerville, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Aaron White and the late Nikki Lee Hutchinson. Mrs. Lang was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Jason Woodard. Mrs. Lang was a vital and loved member of New Vision Church in Douglas, Georgia.
Those surviving Mrs. Lang include her loving husband of 28 years, Barry Lang, of Pearson; sister, Laurie Todd, of Lakeland; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and John Taft of Axson; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Newton Cox of Axson; and sister, Janet White, of Axson. Many cousins, nieces, nephews, family members, and an immeasurable number of friends also survive Mrs. Lang.
Mrs. Lang graduated from Atkinson County High School in 1982. Over the years she worked at various public places and was always a smiling and welcoming face. Mrs. Lang presently worked at Guardian Bank in Pearson and had prior positions with the Atkinson County Tax Commissioner’s Office as well as the Southern Georgia Regional Commission in Waycross. Mrs. Lang enjoyed shopping with her sisters, gardening and yard work, spending time with her pet, Bella, and helping people from all walks of life. Mrs. Lang never met a stranger and was known for the love, compassion, hugs, and prayers she extended to so many people.
Above all else, Mrs. Lang loved her church and her Lord. Mrs. Lang has been described as an “Angel Among Us” and a “Woman of God” by many who knew her. Mrs. Lang was a true follower of Christ and dedicated her life to spreading the gospel and using her heart and voice to do it in the most caring, sincere, and impacting ways. Her kindness, spirituality, and comforting nature will be greatly missed by the community and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lang were held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at New Vision Church in Douglas with Rev. Jimmy Jordan and Rev. Edward Mathews officiating. Special musical selections included “I Can Only Imagine” and “What a Day That Will Be” beautifully rendered by Mrs. Lang’s nephew, John Lang, who also provided soft music for the prelude and postlude. The interment followed at Axson Cemetery with closing words for the family and a prayer from Rev. Jordan and Rev. Mathews.
Serving as active pallbearers were: Casey Taft, Ryan Taft, Jonathon Sturgis, John Rowe, Bob Brown, and Chase Taylor.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made in Mrs. Lang’s memory to New Vision Church, 4016 Bowens Mill Road, Douglas, GA 31533.
