Mrs. Francine Wildes Herrington, age 82, of Pearson, Ga. passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, at her home in Pearson, Ga. following an extended illness.
Mrs. Herrington was born December 12, 1942, to the late John Franklin and Edna Henderson Wildes. She made her home in Pearson and started her working career at Tri County Gas in Pearson, then worked at Smith Jewelry, Spradley’s and Dollar General in Pearson.
Mrs. Herrington was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Axson, Ga. and served as Sunday School Secretary for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon Edsel “Eddie” Herrington, Brother, Larry Austin Wildes, brother-in-law, Henry Larry Caraballo, nephew, Timothy Austin "Timmy" Wildes, and great-nephew, Clint Austin Wildes.
Survivors include:
Brother: David Wildes (Christine) of Pearson, Ga.
Sister: Jan Caraballo of Pearson, Ga.
5 Nieces: Mardi Caraballo White (Jeffrey), Ann Wildes Alexander, Jennifer Wildes Spivey (Kyle), Alisa Wildes Clark (Kelly), Megan Wildes Mizell (Marshall).
3 Nephews: James Larry Wildes, Shawn Franklin Wildes (Paige), Dustin David Wildes (Sommer).
Special Caregiver: Deana Mullis
Several great and great-great nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Herrington were held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. William Pope and Rev. Walter James officiating. Special music included “How Gret Thou Art” rendered by soloist Jenniffer Spivey and “Amazing Grace” by the congregation with Patricia Corbitt accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was by Patricia Corbitt, pianist. The interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were James Wildes, Shawn Wildes, Dustin Wildes, Kyle Spivey, Marshall Mizell and Kelly Clark.
Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
