Mrs. Evelyn Sirmans Folsom, age 77 years old of Douglas, Ga., passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness.
She was born on July 1, 1946, in Pearson, Ga. to the late Grady B. and Mary Effie White Sirmans. Evelyn graduated from Coffee Co. in 1964 after moving to Douglas. She attended schools in Atkinson County for 11 years and considered herself a member of the class of 1964 Atco High. Evelyn and David were married in May 1967, and she was an army wife for 18 of the 20 years he served moving and living in the states of Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama, and Hawaii. She stayed in Douglas while David was overseas on tours with her boys. They were known as the Wreckin' Crew, and she was Mom Wrecker. After retirement they built a home and settled in Douglas, Ga. She was a homemaker and loved to read and make hand quilted quilts. She and her mom sold these quilts at the craft fair for years. She was also the clerk at Deer Run Auction until she decided to go to work. She worked part time for a year at PCC and went full time in the Finishing Department. She was a touch up operator, visual inspector, and a supervisor during her 17 years until her health failed and she had to go on dialysis. While on dialysis, she received her first kidney transplant which was good for 2 years before it failed. She began dialysis again until January 2010 when she received her second Kidney. Thanks to 2 kidney donors her life was extended by many years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Alma Ward. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Folsom was preceded in death by her Husband, SFC Ret. William D. Folsom, her son, Deane Adam Folsom, her sister, Laverne S. Giddens and her brother, Edward Sirmans.

Hunter Adam Folsom of Nicholls, Ga.
Ava Ruth Folsom of Nicholls, Ga.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Folsom will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Relihan Funeral Home Chapel in Pearson, Ga. with Bro. Rodney Peterson, Bro. Tony Roberson and Bro. Steve Sirmans officiating. The internment will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Pearson, Ga.
Visitation for Mrs. Folsom will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga.
