Doyland D. Pittman

Mr. Doyland Delbert Pittman, age 89 of Pearson, Ga. passed away, Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at his home, following a brief illness.  He was born, October 25, 1932, in Lyons, Ga., to Dwight Moody and Juanita Wilson Pittman.  Mr. Pittman made his home in Atkinson County where he worked owned and operated Pittman’s Garage.  He took great pride in providing and taking care of his family.  Mr. Pittman was a 1950 graduate of Atkinson County High School.  He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Sweetwater United Methodist Church in Pearson, Ga.  Mr. Pittman loved to fish and spend time with his friends and family.  He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his wife, Ivy Dell Pittman and 2 brothers: Bobby and Jimmy Pittman.

Survivors include:

2 Daughters:  Betty Lott of Douglas, Ga.

                      Cheryl Jackson and husband Doc of Pearson, Ga.

Brother:  D.Q. Pittman and wife Glenda of Pearson, Ga.

3 Sisters:  Shirley McKinnon of Pearson, Ga.

                 Carolyn Dawson of Axson, Ga.

                 Vonita Davis and husband Jerome of Axson, Ga.

5 Grandchildren:  Kyndal Haney, Payton Guess, Leyna Guess Hudgins, Morgan Lott, and Cassidy Lott Esterson.

13 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Pittman were held, Monday, November 15, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Relihan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. D.Q. Pittman and Rev. Edward Mathews officiating.  Special family memories were shared by his granddaughter, Cassidy Lott Esterson.  Musical selections included, “Amazing Grace” and “Scars in Heaven” both rendered by cd.  The interment followed in Axson Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Morgan Lott, Payton Guess, Jagger Leavens, Seager Leavens, Adam Day and Collier Guess.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
