Charles Leon Smith

Mr. Charles Leon Smith, age 79 years old, of Pearson, Ga., passed away, Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga., following a short illness.  He was born in Atkinson County on October 8, 1943, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Mary Etta Starling Smith.  Mr. Smith was retired from the logging industry and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was a member of Red Bluff Primitive Baptist Church and was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his son, Charles Leon “Charlie” Smith, Jr.

Survivors include:

Wife:  Linda Grimsley Smith of Pearson, Ga.

Brother:  Roger Smith of Pearson, Ga.

Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Memorialization was by cremation.

Services will be announced at a later time.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
