Rev. Charles David Brown

December 26, 1943 — September 21, 2020

Rev. Charles David Brown, age 76 of Pearson, Ga., passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Ga, following a brief illness.

A native of Pearson, Ga., Rev. Brown was born December 26, l943, son of C. P. and Gladys Stone Brown. He was a member and currently serving as pastor of Wilsonville Church of God of Prophecy where he had served faithfully for almost 30 years.  He had also served as Pastor of the Hortense Church of God of Prophecy.  He worked for many years as a salesman for Roger Wood-Food, Inc. in Savannah and was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, traveling to the mountains and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Brown and a sister, Norma Jean Smith.

Survivors include:

Wife:  Janice Hall Brown of Pearson, Ga.

 

2 Daughters:  Melissa Moore and husband, Wendell of Douglas, Ga.

                       Cindy Cady and husband, Steve of Pearson, Ga.

Brother:  Chester Brown and wife, Sue of Pearson, Ga.

6 Grandchildren:  Kelly Whitley and husband, Ashley of Pearson, Ga.

                             Jade Morris and husband, Drew of Valdosta, Ga.

                             Mason Davis and fiance, Kemory of Pearson, Ga.

                             Nick Cady of Pearson, Ga.

                             Ajae Moore Youngblood of Douglas, Ga.

                             Kayla Moore of Willacoochee, Ga.

13 Great-Grandchildren along with several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Rev. Brown were held, Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Satilla Memorial Gardens in Douglas, Ga. with Bishop Billy Adams and Bishop Matthew McEachem officiating. A special poem was read by Betty Walker. Special music included “Look for Me” and “Thank You for Giving to the Lord” rendered by Dana Hobbs with cd accompaniment and “I’ll Fly Away” was rendered by all attending with Cheree McEachem leading. The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens with Military Honors rendered by an Honor Guard Contingent from Ft. Stewart, Ga.

Serving as active pallbearers were, Mason Davis, Gavin Hall, Bryan Hall, Jason Brown, Justin Brown, and Nick Cady.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Wilsonville Church of God of Prophecy in honor of Mr. Brown. (Carla Porter 1073 Milton Davis Rd. Nicholls, Ga. 31554)

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
