Mrs. Betty Miller Vickers, age 90 of Newnan, Ga, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 after a long fight with Alzheimer’s.

Betty Miller Vickers was born January 17, 1930 in Valdosta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 7 years, Jimmy Cole Vickers, Sr. After his death in 1953, she married his brother, Warren Richard Vickers, Jr. They were married for 55 years before his death in 2010. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Roger Miller of Lake Arrowhead, Georgia.

Betty is survived by her brother, Thomas Miller (Rudy) of Daytona Beach, Florida, her daughter Janice Coley (Jimmy) of Gay, Georgia, her sons Jim Vickers (Barbara) of Newnan, Georgia, Rick Vickers (Esther) of Orlando, Florida, and Sean Vickers (Carol) of Monticello, Florida. She was also blessed with fifteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Betty lived in Orlando, Florida for 40 years where she enjoyed family, friends, and retail work. She was known for her hospitality and always being properly “put together”.  In 2010, after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s she relocated to Newnan, Georgia to live with her son Jim and be close to her daughter Janice and family.

Betty was a faithful wife, loving mother, caring friend and had the ability to look out for the needs of others. She enjoyed attending church where she received Christ at a young age and was baptized. When Betty lost her battle with Alzheimer’s she gained heaven where she now has a clear mind and full body. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside Memorial Services for Mrs. Vickers were held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM, at Sweetwater Cemetery in Pearson, Georgia with her son, Pastor Sean Vickers officiating.

Relihan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
