Barbara Ann Griffis Mullis

February 1, 1942 — September 10, 2019

Mrs. Barbara Ann Griffis Mullis, age 77 of Millwood, Ga. passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness.

A native of Ware county, Mrs. Mullis was born February 01, 1942, daughter of Thomas Eustace and Byrd Christeen Taylor Griffis. She was a registered nurse and owned/operated several nursing homes. Mrs. Mullis loved gardening, animals, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson Patrick James O’Brien and sister, Rheumell F. Griffis.

Survivors include:

2 Sons: Brent Hoopiiaina and wife, Judy of Ambrose, Ga.

             Billy Anderson and wife, Millie of Orem, Utah

 

3 Daughters: Kelly Davis of Millwood, Ga.

                       Elaine Day of Darien, Ga.

                       Kori Martin and husband, Devoy of Waycross, Ga.

20 Grandchildren, 34 Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mullis were held, Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Pearson, Ga. with Bishop Clee Sirmans, Elder Steve Sirmans, and Elder Billy Anderson officiating. Special musical selections were “O My Father” rendered by Angie Odum, “Amazing Grace” rendered by Ellie Hoopiiaina and “I Never You Promised You a Rose Garden” presented by CD. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was by Tonya Cecil pianist. The interment followed in Little Utah Cemetery in Axson, Ga. with the dedication of the grave by her son, Elder Billy Anderson.

Serving as active pallbearers were Grandsons: Clint Davis, Andrew Mixon, Michael O’Brien, Gunter Hoopiiaina, Nick Hoopiiaina, and Chris Hoopiiaina.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
