Alice Stone Youngblood Gilbert

Mrs. Alice Stone Youngblood Gilbert, age 91, of Pearson, Ga., passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following a brief illness.

Mrs. Gilbert was born May 7, l933, daughter of Marvin and Martha Elizabeth Brown Stone. She had made her home in Atkinson County her entire life and was a homemaker. She loved to cook, fish and spend time with her grandchildren and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church but also attended Hargraves Chapel Church in Millwood, Ga. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her First husband, Elige Youngblood, Second husband, Walter Joe Gilbert, Jr., Brother, Elmon Stone and Grandson, McKay Youngblood.

Survivors include:

3 Sons: Tony Youngblood and wife Christy of Millwood, Ga. 

              Sim Youngblood and wife Linda of Pearson, Ga.

              Wallace Youngblood and wife Lessie of Pearson, Ga.

4 Stepchildren: Lisa Kooti 

                         Ladonna Gilbert 

                         Walter Joe Gilbert III

                         Christopher Donley

15 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Gilbert were held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant Church with Rev. Sim Youngblood officiating. Special music was provided by Christy Youngblood. The interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were, Elige Youngblood, Caleb Youngblood, Lane Youngblood, Landon Walker, Justin Brown and Cameron Kooti.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
