Spivey, age 64 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Thursday evening April 23, 2009 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Spivey was born April 29, l944 son of the late Bunnie and Catherine Bowman Spivey. He was a retired logger and a member of Sweetwater Methodist Church. A brother Doc Franklin Spivey preceded him in death. Survivors include: 2 Sons: Jessie Spivey and Franklin Spivey 2 Sisters: Bonnie Murray and husband Fred of Vidalia, Ga. Linda Luke and husband Butler of Willacoochee, Ga. 3 Brothers; David Spivey and Johnny Spivey Neal Spivey and wife Cindy of Willacoochee, Ga. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Spivey were held at 3:00 P. M. Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Union Hill Cemetery with Rev. James Moore officiating. Special musical selections included "Go Rest High On That Mountain" and "Heaven Will Surely Be Worth It All" rendered by Gay Ann Hodge (Guitar) Lee Ann Hodge and Lisa Cater. The interment followed in Union Hill Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Neal Spivey, Glenn Phillips, Barry Spivey, Butler Luke, Bobby Singletary and Robbie Mancil. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
