Walter Joe Gilbert

Mr. Walter Joe Gilbert age 78 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Tuesday at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Ga. following an extended illness. Survivors include: Wife: Alice Stone Gilbert of Pearson, Ga. 2 Daughters: Ladonna Gilbert (Greg) of Hazlehurst, Ga. Lisa Kooti and John of Americus, Ga. 5 Sons: Walter Joe Gilbert III and Tammy of Fitzgerald, Ga. Christopher Donley and Lisa of Douglas, Ga. Wallace Youngblood and Lessie of Pearson, Ga. Sim Youngblood and Linda of Pearson, Ga. Tony Youngblood and Christy of Millwood, Ga. 1 Brother: Johnny H. Gilbert and Jeanie of Homerville, Ga. 2 Sisters: Annie Harrell of Millwood, Ga. Lucille Wheeler of Douglas, Ga. 14 Grandchildren, l0 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Mr. Gilbert was preceded in death by first wife, Mrs Dovie Ivey Gilbert. Funeral services for Mr. Gilbert will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. W. R. Connell, Rev. Melvin Burch and Rev. Sim Youngblood officiating. The interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
