Mrs. Thelma Bowen Anderson age 83 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Monday December 14, 2009 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Anderson was born November 9, l926 daughter of William and Melissa Wood Bowen. She was a homemaker and a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. Three sons, Thomas, Carl and Ralph Anderson, preceded her in death. Survivors include: Husband: Henry Anderson of Pearson, Ga. 2 Sons: Jerry Anderson and wife Jacqueline of Axson, Ga. Julian Anderson and wife Martha of Dupont, Ga. 2 Daughters: Shirlene Branch and husband Chris of Pearson, Ga. Shirley Propes and friend David Westerman of Cartersville, Ga. 8 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson were held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Sunnyside Baptist Church with Rev. Sim Youngblood officiating. Special musical selections included "My Angel" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" presented by tape, "Gathering Flowers For The Masters Bouquet" and "There Ain't No Grave Gonna Hold My Body Down" rendered by the Ladies from Sunnyside with Margaret Williams accompanying at the piano and "Amazing Grace" rendered by the attending congregation. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude by pianist Margaret Williams. The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Micajah Purvis, Sandy Jordan, David Zanders, Matthew Zanders, Josh Jordan and Erick Paulk. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
