Mr. Bobby Edwin Corbitt age 76 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following a brief illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Corbitt was born February 26, 1933 son of John and Florence Clement Corbitt. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Woodmen of the World. Survivors include: Wife: Bonnie Hindman Corbitt of Pearson, Ga. 1 Step Son: Andrew Williams 1 Brother: W.E. Corbitt of Pearson, Ga. 1 Niece: Eve Corbitt of Cleveland, Tenn. 4 Step Grandchildren, 1 Step Great Grandchild, and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Corbitt were held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Sunnyside Baptist Church with Brother Tommy Deems and Brother Mitchell Deems officiating. Special musical selections " Blessed Assurance" and " Amazing Grace" were presented by the attending congregation with Lilla Deems accompanying at the piano. Lilla Deems pianist provided soft music for the Prelude and Postlude. The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Herman Tucker, Julian Haskins, Terry Morris, Michael Swails, Julian Claude Clement, and Hampton Giddens.
