Mrs. Lucille Gilbert Forbes age 72 of Nicholls, Ga. passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Clinch County, Mrs. Forbes was born on February 21, 1938 daughter of the late Walter Joe, Sr. and Ardelia Jordan Gilbert. She had lived in Nicholls, Ga. for several years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Forbes was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include: Husband: James Benjamin Forbes of Nicholls, Ga. 4 Sons: Alvin Hargraves and wife Patricia of Salisbury, N.C. Jimmy Hargarves and wife Tina of Jacksonville, Fl. Tommy Driggers and special friend Lorraine of Jacksonville, Fl. Steven Driggers and wife Tracy of China Grove, N.C. 1 Step-Son: Cody Forbes of Nicholls, Ga. 3 Daughters: Bonnie Altman of Jacksonville, Fl. Audrie O'Brien and husband Jimmy of Jacksonville, Fl. Vanessa Taylor and husband Ernest of Nicholls, Ga. 1 Step-Daughter: Tiffany Bass and special friend Steven of Jacksonville, Fl. 1 Brother: Johnny Herman Gilbert and wife Jeanie of Homerville, Ga. 1 Sister: Annie Harrell of Millwood, Ga. 1 Sister-in-Law: Alice Gilbert of Pearson, Ga. 19 Grandchildren, numerous Great-Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Forbes were held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Hargraves Chapel Church in Millwood, Ga. with Rev. Clayton Davis officiating. Special musical selections included "Calvary Is The Reason Why", "Beulah Land", and "Send Your Best Angel" rendered by Herman Gilbert who accompanied himself on the guitar. Herman Gilbert provided soft music for the Prelude and Postlude. The interment followed in Hargraves Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lucious Corbitt, Brandon Dixon, Christopher Broadway, Gene Forbes, and Richard Peacock. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
