Mrs. Louree Taft Vickers age 74 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Saturday, October 2, 20l0 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Ga., Mrs. Vickers was born on April 6, 1936, daughter of Colonel and Edna Smith Taft. She was a homemaker. Survivors include: Husband: Walter E. (Bill) Vickers of Willacoochee, Ga. Daughter: Dianne Hamilton and husband Donald of Douglas, Ga. 3 Grandchildren: April Solomon of Dublin, Ga. Dena Vickers of Douglas, Ga. Clint Hamilton of Douglas, Ga. 5 Great Grandchildren: Austin Solomon, Adam Solomon, Brice Solomon, Emma Solomon and Dawson Vickers. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Vickers were held at 11:00 A. M., Tuesday , October 5, 2010 at Willacoochee First Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Fussell officiating. Special Musical selections included, "When I Get Where I'm Going", "Go Rest High On That Mountain", and "Amazing Grace" rendered by Charles and Tammy Wood with Charles Wood on the guitar. Soft Prelude and Postlude music was played by Bonnie Kunberger pianist. The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Don Hamilton, Clint Hamilton, Larry Essig, Roy Whitaker, Worth Packer and Phillip Heath Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
