Betty Jean Gurley

Mrs. Betty Jean Delk Gurley age 77 of Woodstock, Ga. passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 at Kennestone Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Homerville, Ga., Mrs. Gurley was born on June 30, 1933 daughter of Thorpe and Lucille White Delk. She was retired from Eaton Corporation as an assembly worker and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was preceded in death by a son Wade Gurley and her husband Ware Boyd Gurley. Survivors include: 1 Son: Boyd Gurley and wife Karen of Franklin, Tenn. 1 Daughter: Becky Dysart and husband Bobby of Woodstock, Ga. 3 Brothers: J.L. Delk of Uvalda, Ga Glen Delk of West Palm Beach, Fl. Billy Delk of Blackshear, Ga. 1 Sister: JoAnn Miller of Fernandina, Beach, Fl. 6 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Gurley were held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Clayton Davis officiating. Special music included "Precious Memories" and "I Won't Have To Worry Anymore" rendered by Regina Delk and Candy Thrift with Betty Davis on the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was provided by Betty Davis pianist. The interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Leslie Delk, Danny Delk, Greg Delk, Ryan Musil, Colin McNulty, and Johnny Delk. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
