Michael Brian Funderburk age 29 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away April 5, 2011 in Ty Ty, Ga. following a short illness. Brian was born in Ocilla, Ga. on July 5, 1981, son of the late James Alfred Funderburk Sr. and Martha Luke Vasquez. He worked in construction as a painter and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was preceded in death by his father, James Alfred Funderburk Sr., brother-in-law, Terry Ross, paternal grandparents, Lamar and Mildred Funderburk and maternal grandparents, John and Adell Luke. Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Cheyenne Alexis Funderburk of Axson, Ga. Mother: Martha Luke Vazquez of Willacoochee, Ga. 2 Brothers: James A. Funderburk and wife Judy of Ty Ty, Ga. Anthony Funderburk and wife Wendy of Pearson, Ga. 5 Sisters: Tammy Dooley and husband Mike of Sylvester, Ga. Lisa Stevens of Enigma, Ga. Michelle Wells and husband Tim of Fitzgerald, Ga. Beth Ross of Enigma, Ga. Jina Stewart and husband Jessey of Valdosta, Ga. Special Friend: Jonathon Stone of Chicago, IL. Former Wife and Mother of Child: Whitney Mizell Funderburk of Axson, Ga. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Brian Funderburk were held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 9, 2010 at Willacoochee Church of God with Bro Ron Mathis and Sis. Kate Wade officiating. A special letter from Brian's best friend Jonathon Stone was read by Donnie Stone and Theresa Lerma. Special Musical selections were "The Promise" rendered by Linda Stephens with cd accompaniment and "Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone" rendered by Penny James with cd accompaniment. Serving as active pallbearers were Erick Paulk, Mike Dooley, Jessey Stewart, Anthony Funderburk, Donnie Stone, John Douglas Funderburk, and Jake Coker. Honorary pallbearers were Eugene Coudle and Marshall Courdle Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
