Olen Arnold Jr.

Mr. Olen Arnold Jr. age 75 of Jacksonville, Fl., formerly of Pearson, Ga. passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Hospice House of Satilla in Waycross, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Ga., Mr. Arnold was born on March 9, 2011 son of Olen Jr. and Marie Dukes Arnold. Mr. Arnold lived most of his life in Jacksonville, Fl. where he worked as a sheet metal mechanic for the Jacksonville Shipyards until his retirement. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Arnold and a granddaughter, Brandi Branch, Survivors include: 4 Sons: George Olen Arnold and wife Linda of Pearson, Ga. William Pickler of Jacksonville, Fl. Robert Pickler of Jacksonville, Fl. Tommy Davis and wife Patricia of Dupont, Ga. 3 Daughters: Jenonia Arnold of Pearson, Ga. Rita Barnes and husband Buster of Pearson, Ga. Sherry Smith of Albany, Ga. 2 Brothers: Harry Arnold and wife Shelia of Nashville, Ga. Larry Arnold and wife Ludell of Pearson, Ga. 3 Sisters: Annie Mae Stone of Pearson, Ga. Margaret Spivey and husband Henry of Axson, Ga. Wanda Martinez of Pearson, Ga. 16 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews also survive Graveside services for Mr. Arnold were held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Pearson, Ga. with Bishop Steve Sirmans officiating. Special music selections included "Amazing Grace", "Seven Spanish Angels", and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" presented by cd. The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by Moody Air Force Base Honor Guard. Serving as active pallbearers were George Olen Arnold, Rusty Breaux, John Olen Arnold, Sue Kirkland, Ricky Stone, and Terry Arnold. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
