Mr. James Murray, Jr, age 68 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 at Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Ga., Mr. Murray was born December 25, 1942, son of Jim and America Bowen Murray. He was a service technician with Ferrell Gas Co. for many years until poor health forced his retirement. Mr. Murray was also a United States Army Veteran. Survivors include: Wife: Shirley Murray of Pearson, Ga. 4 Sons: James L. Murray of Nashville, Tn. Don Murray and wife Elzie of Pearson, Ga. Billy Murray and wife Shelly of Hoboken, Ga. John Murray and wife Aleasha of Nahnuta, Ga. 2 Daughters: Lisa Spikes and husband Lee of Pearson, Ga. Nancy Spikes of Douglas, Ga. 2 Brothers: Clayton Murray of Millwood, Ga. Shelton Murray of Douglas, Ga. 2 Sisters: Faye Murray of Douglas, Ga. Mary Jordan of Douglas, Ga. 11 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services and interment for Mr. Murray were held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev Randall Rhymes officiating. Special musical selections included, "Go Rest High On That Mountain" and "Amazing Grace" rendered by soloist, Jessi Mathis with taped accompaniment. Serving as active pallbearers were: Gerald Gardner, Glenn Gardner, Jimmy Spikes, Lee Spikes, Brian Schotch and Brian Allman. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
