Richard Allen Zimmerman

Mr. Richard Zimmerman age 66, of Axson, Ga. passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Lexington, Neb. Mr. Zimmerman was born October 12, l945 son of Bernard Eugene and Deloris Mary Lemmer Zimmerman. He had made his home in Atkinson County for most of his life. He was retired from the Hercules Company and Design Space as a master mechanic and welder. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Pearson Ward where he served in the Priesthood. He was also Scoutmaster for many years of Troop 806 where many of his scouts went on to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Survivors include: 1 Son: Bernard Zimmerman of Axson, Ga. 2 Daughters: Shelley Rhodes and husband Paul of Waycross, Ga. Cristy Clement of Axson, Ga. Former Wife: Judy Royals Zimmerman of Waycross, Ga. 1 Sister: Louann Walters of Ft. Collins, Co. 3 Brothers: Raymond Zimmerman of Denver, Co. Ronald Zimmerman of Lincoln, Neb. Charles Zimmerman of Beatrice, Neb. 11 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Zimmerman will be held at 4:00 P. M. Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pearson, Ga. with Bishop Kevin Merrell, Bishop Lamar Park and Bishop Steve Sirmans officiating. The interment will follow in Utah Cemetery in Axson, Ga.. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 9 P. M. Saturday evening at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga..
