Mr. Jimmy Corbitt age 68 of Douglas, Ga. passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. Born August l7, l944 in Atkinson County, Mr. Corbitt was the son of Clyde, Sr. and Beadie Burch Corbitt. He was a retired carpenter. He was preceded in death by his first wife; Sara Luke Corbitt, a granddaughter: Beth Corbitt, Sisters: Judy Corbitt, Lillian Spikes, Helen Corbitt, Frankie Adams, Christine Gurley and a Brother: Clyde Corbitt, Jr.. Survivors Include: Wife: Jill Harrell Corbitt of Douglas, Ga. 3 Sons: Darwin Corbitt and wife Patricia of Douglas, GA Darrell Corbitt and wife Nadine of Huntsville, AL Devin Corbitt and wife Beth of Lake Park, GA 1 Daughter: Debbie Taft and husband J.R. of Brunswick, GA 1 Step Son: Scott Ricketson and wife Tammy of Douglas, GA 1 Brother: Rowan Corbitt of Pearson, GA 12 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, and Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Corbitt were held at 2:00 P. M. Monday, February 25, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Chaney and Rev. Bill Huffstuttler officiating. Special musical selections were "I'll Be Waiting At The River" rendered by the Cady Sisters and "Amazing Grace" rendered by the Cady Sisters and the attending congregation with Bonnie Musgrove at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude was by Bonnie Musgrove pianist. The interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Joey Gurley, Steve Adams, Tommy Guthrie, Phillip Guthrie and Carlton Corbitt. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
