Mr. James Orvel Vining, age 65, of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following a short illness. A native of Douglas, Ga., Mr. Vining was born March 17, 1947, son of Earl and Eva Wilkerson Vining. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. Mr. Vining was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Chaney Vining, one brother, Wayne Vining and one sister, Edna Vining. Survivors include: 1 Son: James Kevin Vining and wife Kim of Willacoochee, Ga. 1 Stepson: Johnny Brown of Willacoochee, Ga. 3 Stepdaughters: Ellen Smith of Pearson, Ga. Ann Spivey of Pearson, Ga. Gail Wildes of Douglas, Ga. 3 Brothers: Willis Earl (PeeWee) Vining of Pearson, Ga. Charlie Vining and wife Julia of Pearson, Ga. Thomas Vining of Douglas, Ga. 1 Sister: Loudell Arnold and husband Larry of Pearson, Ga. 2 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Vining were held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Bobby Fussell officiating. Special musical selections included: "Sweet Bye & Bye" rendered by the church choir with Betty Smith accompanying at that piano and "Seven Spanish Angels" rendered by c.d. The interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by an Honor Guard Contingent from Fort Stewart. Serving as active pallbearers were: Mark Vining, Charlie Vining, Jr., Jason Vining, Scott Vining, Nathan Chaney and Jeff Chaney. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangement
