Mrs. Orbie Hattaway Hardin age 81 of Millwood, GA. passed away Friday August 23, 2013 at Waycross Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waycross, GA. following an extended illness. Born July l9, l932 in Jeff Davis County, Mrs. Hardin was the daughter of Ellis Harville and Lizzie Hart Hattaway. She had made her home in the Millwood area for most of her life and had worked for many years as a clerk at McCroys Variety Store and also at Spradelys Variety Store in Pearson. She was a member of Indian Mound Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband James Huey Hardin. Survivors Include: 2 Nieces she and her husband raised: Virginia Perry of Norfolk, VA. Rosa Redner of Waycross, GA. 3 Brothers: Edward Hattaway of Morrison, TN. Jimmy Harville Hattaway of Surrency, GA. Donny Ellis Hattaway of Brunswick, GA. 4 Sisters: Oweeda Moore of Nichols, GA. Eleanor Joiner of Nichols, GA. Margie Griffin of Bartow, FL. Nadine Foster of Nichols, GA. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Hardin were held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Indian Mound Baptist Church with Rev. Clayton Davis officiating. Special musical selections included "Just As I Am", "Amazing Grace", and "I'll Fly Away" rendered by the attending congregation with Betty Davis at the piano and Huey Bennett on the guitar and "I Want have to Worry Anymore" by Kandi Thrift and Regina Delk. Prelude and Postlude music by Betty Davis pianist and Huey Bennett guitarist. The internment followed in Indian Mound Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Leslie Delk, Bobby Thrift, Gage Thrift, Matt Gourley, Lawrence Tindall, and Ernie Smith.
