Mrs. Doris Knight Walker age 71 of Pearson, GA. passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA following a short illness. Born August 21, 1942 in Coffee County, Mrs. Walker was the daughter of the late Harrison and Ruby Morton Knight. She had made her home in Ft. Pierce, FL. for many years before moving to Pearson in 1986. She was a homemaker and faithfully attended the Pearson Church of God of Prophecy. Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Mitchelene Headley of Pearson, GA. 2 Brothers: Ellis Williams of Douglas, GA. Calvin Williams of Pearson,GA. 5 Sisters: Amy Davis of Pearson, GA. Martha Williams of Douglas, GA. Ruby Jowers of Ambrose, GA. Sonja McNamb of West Green, GA. Lovie Kay Knight of Douglas, GA. 4 Grandchildren: Amanda Price of Tenn, Brian Schotsch and wife Stephanie of Pearson, GA. Benjamin Headley and wife Alicia, and Joseph Headley and wife Lauren of Norfolk, VA. 7 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Walker were held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Pearson Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Hardy Crosby, Rev. Randall Rhymes, and Rev. Allen Peacock officiating. Special musical selections included "Near The Cross" rendered by Rita Spikes, "Where Angels Fear To Tread" rendered by Bridgett Moore and Allen Jewell with cd accompaniment and "I Found The Lily In My Valley" rendered by Allen Jewell with cd accompaniment. Soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude was played by Rita Spikes pianist. The interment followed in Rocky Creek Cemetery near Broxton, GA. Serving as active pallbearers were: D. J. Tanner, Randall Rhymes, John Davis, Richard McNamb, Daniel McNamb, Kimbo Davis and Jacob Jowers. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA. was in charge of the arrangements.
