Mr. Tillman Purvis, age 79, of Nashville, Ga. formerly of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Ga. following an extended illness. Born June 5, l934 in Coffee County, Mr. Purvis was the son of Albert and Henrietta Cribbs Purvis. He had made his home in Nashville, Ga. for the past 25 years and had worked in the construction business before retiring. He was a member of Nashville Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Helene West Purvis. Survivors include: 1 Son: Billy Purvis of Willacoochee, Ga. 1 Daughter: Abigail Murray 2 Brothers: Hilton Purvis of Willacoochee, Ga. Alfred Lee Purvis of Nashville, Ga. 2 Sisters: Mary Alice Burch of Douglas, Ga. Dorothy Mae Taylor of Douglas, Ga. Several Nieces and Nephews and other relatives also survive. Graveside Funeral services for Mr. Purvis were held at 3:00 P. M. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Willacoochee City Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Smith officiating. The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Raymond Purvis, Michael Medders, Greg O'Steen, David Roberson, Milton Purvis and Billy Purvis.
