Rodney McGovern

away Tuesday, April 08, 2014 in Alapaha, Ga. following a brief illness. A native of Coffee County, Mr. McGovern was born February 13, 1961, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert and Dorothy Johnson McGovern. He was employed with Dixon Farm Supply in Alapaha, Ga. Mr. McGovern was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert and Dorothy McGovern and one brother, Ronnie McGovern. Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Tiffany Batten and husband Michael of Douglas, Ga. 3 Sisters: Diane Mathis of Nashville, Ga. Angela White of Pearson, Ga. Stephanie Bedgood and husband William of Pearson, Ga. Sister-in-law: Shirley McGovern of Pearson, Ga. 2 Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews and other relatives also survive. Graveside services for Mr. McGovern were held Thursday April 10, 2014, at 4:00 P.M. at Arna Cemetery with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Special musical selections included, "When I Get Where I'm Going", "If I Had Only Known" and "Welcome Home" rendered by c.d. The interment followed in Arna Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Ricky Bazemore, Keith Bazemore, Robbie Dale Bazemore, William Bedgood, Greg Exum and Darin Balance.
