Doris Douglas Carter

Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Douglas Carter age 86 of Lakeland, Fl. passed away Friday May 16, 2014, at her residence, following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Carter was born March 18, 1928, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Allen and Nettie Arlura Gillis Douglas. Mrs. Carter had lived in Lakeland, Florida for the past eight years where she was a homemaker and member of Scott Lake Baptist Church. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Everett Carter. Survivors include: 2 Sons: Ron Carter and wife Debbie of Lakeland, Fl. Fred Carter and wife Nancy of Port Charlotte, Fl. 2 Daughters: Melanie Frame and husband Glenn of Stewartstown, Pa. Myra Carter of Lakeland, Fl. 6 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Carter were held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Elbethel Church in Pearson, Ga. with Mrs. Catherine Tanner, and Mr. Robert McLendon officiating. Special musical selections included, "To God be the Glory" and "Victory in Jesus" rendered by the congregation with Mrs. Francine Fender accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was provided by Mrs. Francine Fender, pianist. The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Nathan Carter, Matthew Carter, Eli Frame, Glenn Frame, Ryan Miller and Rhett Miller.
