Joyce Ann McClendon

Mrs. Joyce Ann McClendon, age 74, of Jacksonville, Fla. formerly of Pearson, Ga., passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla. following an extended illness. A native of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. McClendon was born June 7, 1939, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. and Juanita E. Cabe Turner. She formerly worked as a bookkeeper in the Banking Industry and was a member of Ozias Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. McClendon was preceded in death by a son, Stewart Bergquist. Survivors include: Husband: Mac McClendon 4 Sons: Jerome Bergquist and wife Sandi of Brooksville, Fla. Rev. James Bergquist and wife Sharon of Hardy, Va. Christopher Joiner of Douglas, Ga. Donald McClendon of Jacksonville, Fla. 1 Daughter: Connie Cox and husband Gerald of Jacksonville, Fla. 1 Brother: R.E. Turner and wife Anna Bea of Nashville, Tenn. 2 Sisters: Vinetta Turner of Orange Park, Fla. Dana Turner of Orange Park, Fla. 2 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. McClendon were held Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Ozias Freewill Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Larry Johnson and Rev. Mitchell Deems officiating. Special musical selections included, "Beulah Land" rendered by soloist, grandson, Sage Joiner accompanied by pianist, Susie Kirkland and "Knowing You'll Be There" by c.d. accompaniment. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was provided by Lilla Deems, pianist. The interment followed in Sunnyside Church Cemetery in Pearson, Ga. Serving as active pallbearers were: James Corbitt, Jimmy Corbitt, Myles Corbitt, David Taylor, Chris Davis and Nicholas Hernandez. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements
